Why Our Shop Products Are Temporarily Out of Stock

If you’ve been following our recent posts, you’ll know that our payment provider, Airwallex, unexpectedly shifted all users onto a paid subscription model — with no free tier and no option to remain as we were. The new monthly fees were simply not something we could sustain.

So we’re taking this moment to find a new home: a payment portal and bank account that suits our very specific needs. This may take some time. If we can’t find the right fit, we’ll take that as a sign that it may be time to close the gift shop permanently. But we’re not making that decision yet. For now, we’ve switched all products to out of stock, and they may not return until the first quarter of 2026.

Last week, we actually closed — with a capital C — believing it was permanent. But through a few unexpected twists (which you can read about in our quirky illustrated fairytale from last week), we found ourselves reopening the very next day and beginning a relocation instead. It felt like a small reprieve: a shift from a hard closing to a soft one. What that becomes down the track, we’ll simply have to wait and see.

The good news is that you can still order our books, notebooks, and colouring books through Amazon as usual. And if there’s something on this site you truly have your heart set on, feel free to contact us — we can look into arranging a manual order via bank transfer. It may take a little extra time and care, but we’re happy to see what’s possible.

In the meantime, the blog will continue — stories, art, updates, and the creative life behind the scenes.
