THIS BLOG IS TAKING A BREAK

Our main blogger, Lisa, is moving to Scotland, so this blog is taking a break. Expect lots of photos of Scotland soon. 🙂

*PHOTOS* FREE photos: 50th birthday/anniversary

My husband turned the big 5-0 this week (January 2023). To commemorate the event, I (Lisa) thought I’d upload some free-to-use photos for a 50th – some 50 Years cake photos and some more generic cake photos for any kind of birthday or even a morning tea.

Many years ago I used to do day-in-the-life type shoots where I went behind the scenes and followed an event with a camera and photographed the day as it was. I was asked to do some photos for a 50th wedding anniversary and that’s where these photos came from, so if you want to use them for an anniversary instead, they’d work just as well. And as I said, there are a few generic ones there too.

These photos are free to keep and use however you like – blog posts, websites, articles, a birthday event, give them away to others. Just don’t sell them. Access them below by clicking on one and right-clicking to save the image.

You’ll find more free photos HERE.

And you’ll find a large range of free-to-use photos on my Tumblr site: www.lookingglassfreephotos.tumblr.com (A tip: You don’t have to be a Tumblr member to access the photos.)

Oh, and welcome to our new category *Photography*. This year (2023) we are planning on doing a little more with the photos we have, whether it’s offering more for free or putting some on the site as prints for sale. So you might find some behind-the-scenes info and product updates in this blog.

*ART* How a Notebook Changed My Life: Introducing Willow Lane

I was eight years old. I had just spent 50c of my pocket money on a little spiral-bound notebook. It was one of those reporter types, portrait orientation with binding across the top. The ones where you flip the page over the top of the notebook to get to a new page. I had no idea what I was going to do with it, but I knew I wanted that notebook.
